Uri Breier’s Air Force Number
“And there is no one more important than you in the founding of the
Israeli Air Force in its first years. And you deserve to know this. Thank
you so much for everything you have done. Health and long life.”
Avi Segal, Director of the Israeli Air Force Museum
Before we left to visit Moshe, our Father’s youngest brother in Israel, we received a call from his wife Shoshana. Shoshana asked if Daddy would mind being interviewed for a few hours while in Israel. He responded that he wouldn’t mind. We expected someone to come to Moshe and Shoshana’s home and interview our Father for an hour or so. Instead, a truck showed up with a camera crew, filming equipment, and Avi, the Head of the Israeli Aviation Museum who proceeded to interview our Father over a two day period beginning April 4th 2006.

We learned that Avi had been trying to locate our Father for many years in order to interview him. Having had no luck at all, he anticipated he would have to fly to the United States to find our Father. Avi often gave tours in Israel and one day, Shoshana, and a friend of hers, took a tour that Avi happened to be leading. Avi asked the people on the tour their names and Shoshana stated her first name and sir name which is of course Breier. Avi ... surprised that he was in the company of a Breier, asked - do you know Uri Breier per chance. She responded - of course - he is my brother-in-law. Avi mentioned he had been looking high and low for Uri and Shoshana responded that he would be in Israel shortly to visit her husband, his brother and the family. Avi asked if he could interview Uri while he was in Israel ..... and what follows is presented.
We believe this interview was a blessing for our Father - a healing of wounds still tender after so, so many years.
